One of the main advantages to hiring a villa, for you and your family, is that you are not restricted. You will be able to cook and eat at your own leisure and you can come and go as you please. You will be able to have all of the mod cons that you would be used to back at home while still having some wonderful scenery to explore right on your doorstep.
Alonissos: You will find no airport here which makes for a wonderfully secluded holiday that is off of the usual tourist track. To arrive here you will need to fly in to Skiathos and then travel to the port to take a ferry or hydrofoil. However, do not let this put you off as the views here will be worth the trip from the moment you arrive! With only a few thousand inhabitants living here you will find the peace and relaxation that many people crave from a holiday. There are many wonderful olive groves to visit here and you will find some amazing wine for sale on this island. The beaches are wonderful and with their pebbles they create the backdrop for some beautiful photographs and memories that will last a life time. Marine life here is dense and you can always visit the Alonissos Marine Park to see some of the amazing creatures, flora and fauna that this wonderful island has to offer.

Ithaca: Located just a few miles from Cephalonia this is possibly the least well known island in the Greek Isles and this area really does feel like it has been untainted by tourism giving a real chance to experience the real Greek islands before they became a thriving tourist holiday destination. This island is tiny, compared to some of the other Greek islands, with an area of just 45 square miles but this just means that you will be able to explore the whole Island on your holiday and should not be considered a down point. There is much Greek mythology based around this Island and you will have a culturally rich experience when travelling here. The Ionian Sea, which surrounds this Island, is truly beautiful and the crystal clear waters provide host to water sports and marine related activities such as diving.
Wherever you choose to stay for your Greek villa holiday you can be sure of a wonderful time. Each island offers something different and there is always something new waiting to be discovered around every corner. The cuisine is amazing and the culture is varied. The Greek islands are steeped in history and provide some truly beautiful surroundings for a wonderful family break. You will find the smaller Islands offer a unique holiday destination as while they may not have all of the tourist trappings of Island such as Crete and Corfu they will still cater to your ever need and allow you to have the rest and relaxation that you truly deserve.
